Yesterday was another great one at Balliol. There was a lot to get through, so everyone was keen to make an early start. Lessons went over smoothly, and once again it’s great to see the students grasping more advanced concepts as we head into the weekend.
Following this, students had some free time to do with as they pleased, with many opting to return to the fantastic City of Oxford. There is always more to see and do in the town, and everyone was enthusiastic to continue exploring. Meanwhile, some of the other students opted to remain on Campus; some chose to play chess and ping-pong, whilst others wisely opted to get ahead on their homework.
The largest group of those who stayed was the Touch Rugby crew who headed to Uni Parks for what was reportedly a great game. It was the first time some of the students had played the sport in any variation, and so the students did a remarkable job once they had got their heads around the rules. It was great to see students embracing new sports as part of their exposure to different cultures, and there was a strong sense of friendly rivalry once the game got underway.
It’s been a fantastic week here at Balliol, and we aren’t even at the mid-way point. Friday has arrived and the weekend is now just around the corner. There’s so much left to come, from further lessons and Enrichment Activities to Excursions and leisurely free-time.
