The end of the session looms as everyone at Clare looks forward to their exciting graduation events on Friday afternoon. Thursday saw another full morning of lessons, with students beginning to complete their final assignments for their classes. Although everyone is pleased to be homework free, there was a hint of sadness in the air as the group told the campus staff how much they have enjoyed their lessons during their stay.
Following their classes, the afternoon promised a diverse array of activities. A large portion of the group chose to get creative with a cake decorating masterclass in the marquee, which proved a sweet treat for all those involved, although it did get a little sticky in the sunshine.
Other students had the opportunity to use the Cambridge Rowing Tank! This new and high tech piece of equipment allows the students at the university to practise their strokes outside of the river. For our students who had never tried their hand at rowing before, this was a great introduction to the skills involved in this challenging sport. The afternoon was fantastic and we are grateful to the university for allowing our students to make use of this great piece of kit!
On their way back from the tank, the students enjoyed a wonderful walk through the city centre, as everyone stopped to snap their final photos of the historic architecture of Cambridge. On the walk, there were even some cows and swans to admire, although it was safe to say that most of the students kept a good distance!
The evening saw a relaxed dinner and the atmosphere was warm as everyone chatted and ate. The day was rounded off with a few games of table tennis and some other sports on the Backs before everyone headed to bed to get some rest before the excitement of graduation on Friday.
