With a weekend off from lessons right around the corner, our students were in high spirits this morning. Everyone’s fully settled in and it’s great to see so many firm friendships growing between our students.
In the afternoon the students had the chance to go punting on the river Cherwell. Lots of our students had been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to try the much-famed Oxford activity, so it was a very popular choice amongst the cohort!
Though the last few days have been a little overcast, the students managed to catch a few spots of sun as they travelled down the river, putting everyone in a cheery mood. The pleasant atmosphere encouraged the students’ adventurous sides and soon students were standing up in the boats to try their hands at punting. Luckily nobody fell in!
After dinner, lots of students decided to stay inside and get ahead with their homework and group projects. It really is great to see our students taking the initiative and it just goes to show how dedicated they all are.
Those who had already finished their work decided to spend the evening playing some sports. Table tennis was the game of choice, though an intense fussball tournament did also draw a few spectators!
Before bed, the students got a quick update on their activity choices over the next few days – they have the ORA Olympics and ORA’s Great Debate to look forward to at the weekend! It looks to be a very exciting weekend!
