Yesterday morning was off to a great start at St Catherine’s as students returned to lessons as usual. After taking in so much over the course of the week, it was great to see the students retaining what they’d learnt and moving on to ever-more challenging concepts as the week went on.
This all called for a hard-earned Enrichment Session. This time, it was punting on the river! Each student took turns standing on the back of the boat and paddling. As well as providing some great exercise, it also proved to be a serious test of balance. The students were not daunted by the task, embracing the challenge with confidence. Thankfully, nobody fell in – a remarkable achievement for a first run! Everybody completed the circuit within an hour in time to head back to Catz.
The excitement did not stop there though, as soon it was time for the day’s true test of bravery, Bill Spectre’s Ghost Tour! The students loved getting to see Oxford at night, as well as explore its history from a new perspective. It was a thoroughly enjoyable tour and everybody was deeply engrossed in Bill Spectre’s fantastic storytelling. Let’s hope there were no nightmares!
Meanwhile, Friday is finally here! The students have worked immensely hard up to this point and it’s been a great week for Enrichment Activities and down-time with friends. While there’s so much more still to come, it’s been great to reflect on everyone’s journey so far as well. Bring on the weekend!
