There was no trace of mid-week blues at Lady Margaret’s yesterday. By the time breakfast was over, all our students were eager to race off for another fascinating day of lessons.
One of the most interesting mornings was had by the students taking Environmental Science as part of their New Perspectives programme. The students have been exploring some of the biggest environmental issues facing our world, such as climate change and the loss of biodiversity. That all of our students are able to tackle such subjects sensitively and intelligently is a testament to just how talented our students are here at ORA.
But it wasn’t just the Environmental Science class that shone today at LMH. In recognition of the hard work of the students, the staff handed out some star student awards to those who’d performed exceptionally.
Yan received an award for his mature and technically impressive piece of creative writing. Roxanne earned another for her excellent lesson participation, and Danilo took a third award for his outstanding effort and work ethic. A huge well done to all three of them!
In the evening, the students had the chance to take part in a Model United Nations as part of their enrichment. The exercise allows students to step into the shoes of UN members and debate with each other about important current issues. It was a great opportunity for our students to showcase more of their impressive skills in debating, public speaking, leadership, and critical thinking.
Throughout the exercise, everyone displayed maturity beyond their years, showing again how many gifted individuals we have with us.
It was safe to say the students had earned themselves some free time to relax and chat before heading off to bed.
