It was a great day on set yesterday at Balliol as the students in our Film Academy edited some footage from earlier in the week. It was great to see their progress over such a short period, and the assembling of their projects seemed for everyone to be the most rewarding stage in the process. Afterwards, it was time to explore the grounds in search of more footage. Perhaps we’ll catch some students in Hollywood someday soon!
The Oxford Summer English Programme also pulled out the stops yesterday as everyone made the most of the sun. Grabbing a nice spot in the shade, everyone was engaged in conversational dialogue practice, as well as an English Language debate. There was an impressive level of complexity in the discussions that took place, and it’s always nice to see everyone making the most of the weather.
In-between lessons there was another opportunity to relax outdoors, with some students opting for ping-pong on the grass. New friendship groups are still blossoming mid-week, which is also great to see.
Elsewhere on Campus, our Computer Science students continued to focus on coding. At such an incredible time of technological change, the students at Balliol took full advantage and dove into the cutting edge of modern computing, from iOS Apps to Computer Science.
Tomorrow marks the end of a long week at Balliol, and the students will be keen to cruise into the weekend. If the weather permits there might even be a Friday celebration in the pipeline!
