Classes continued as usual this morning with all students remaining engaged and attentive despite the inevitable mid-week slump! Now that they’ve spent a few days together, the cohort are really working well with each other and it’s great to see so many friendships blossoming between them.
After lunch, the students headed back into Oxford city centre. Monday’s walking tour had merely whet the student’s appetite for the beautiful sights of the city, and everyone was eager for the chance to explore it in more depth.
One of the things the students were most curious to see was some of the other University of Oxford Colleges. Having only spent time at St Hugh’s so far, they were eager to see some of the other colleges that ORA uses, and to get a flavour of what studying at Oxford University might be like.
After a quick and tasty ice cream, students headed back to St. Hugh’s for their evening activities. Tonight, students were treated to a talk on ‘How to write an essay’ from one of our expert teachers. Everyone listened carefully and took meticulous notes – this was a talk that would benefit them throughout their time in education!
Once the talk was over, lots of students put what they had learnt into action immediately in homework club. It looks like there’s going to be some really stellar work submitted this session!
Other students took advantage of an Origami workshop to create some paper mementos of their time in Oxford, or headed off to the park for some sports.
