The day got off to its usual start with students getting up to enjoy breakfast together and then heading off to their morning classes. As we come towards the end of our first session at St Edmund’s, all of our students are busier than ever with their studies as they look forward to receiving their graduation scrolls at the end of the week!
In the afternoon, the students enjoyed some free time which they chose to fill mainly with sporting activities such as; football, volleyball and table tennis. The weather was warm throughout the afternoon and a group of students chose to play a more competitive game of volleyball with some of the counsellors and junior deans who were on duty. Throughout the session, it has been wonderful to see all of the campus staff bonding with the group, and it will be sad when this cohort finally leaves for home a few days from now.
Whilst a large portion of the students played sport, some of the group chose to pursue more artistic interests in their free time. They picked flowers from around the grounds at Eddie’s and used these to create beautiful paintings.
It was nice for the students to enjoy a more relaxed and quiet activity. As the last couple of weeks have been so hectic, it was a good opportunity to reflect on some of their favourite parts of their stay so far in Cambridge.
The day closed in a chilled-out fashion, as the students ate a leisurely dinner before watching a film together. Then it was time for some well-deserved rest as they prepare for their last full day of lessons on Thursday!
