It was a beautiful day at sunny St Catherine’s College yesterday as the students geared up for their first round of lessons and quiz night.
The weather so far has been great, with the sun shining frequently over Catz recently. With so many Excursions planned for the future, it’s a great sign to see so few clouds. Here’s hoping for more later on!
The day began promptly with breakfast, with the students fortunately seeming to adjust well to the early hours! Having only just arrived at their new home for the next two weeks, it was great to see students adapting to their surrounds and generally being prompt. There was only one report of a missing key, which boded well for such a large cohort.
Lessons shortly followed. Subjects included Genetics, Economics, Law, Business, Chemistry and Engineering. There was a lot for everyone to get their heads around on day one, but most were very keen and engaged as they were introduced to their respective courses.
ORA offers not only teaching from some of Britain’s leading academics, but also a host of social activities, the first of which kicked off yesterday evening with Quiz Night in the marquee. Councellors noted a really pleasing turnout and a great atmosphere of co-operation as well as friendly competition. The winning team, ‘Cosmos’ won several boxes of Lindt chocolate!
Today the fun continues; everyone seems eager to get into more depth with their subjects, and there might even be time for some games in the sun.
