It was another memorable day at Queen’s yesterday as everyone assembled for their first lessons of the course, as well as a tour of the incredible City of Oxford.
Breakfast began the day. There were a couple of heavy sleepers who ended up a little late, but we take this as a glowing endorsement of the comfortable accommodation here at Queen’s!
Lessons were received well, making for a smooth introduction to the students’ chosen subjects. With a wide curriculum on offer, students seemed comfortable with their choices and excited to get as stuck in as possible from the outset.
Following on from this came the first excursion of the Summer at Queen’s: a tour of the stunning City of Oxford! Known globally for its prestigious colleges and jaw-dropping architecture, everyone was granted the rare opportunity to witness its beauty first-hand and up-close.
After a long day and some sightseeing, the students were able to unwind with sports on the green. Choosing between football and rounders, students went head-to-head in teams and unleashed their competitive side! There was however a more relaxed option: a quiz written by Sam, one of our Councillors. The first full day concluded with the winning team receiving a prize for their effort, as well as some serious kudos!
Today looks to be just as packed, with students having a debate workshop planned for the evening. With the usual scheduled lessons now in full swing too, it looks like things will only get more exciting as they continue!
