After a few days of intense heat, yesterday’s slightly cooler temperatures were a nice change of pace for our students here at Catz. Our students made the most of this by embarking on a walk into the village of Grantchester. The meadows that lead the way are an attraction in their own right, but students also thoroughly enjoyed the village’s historic sights. Grantchester’s medieval church and famous tea rooms were particular highlights.
In the afternoon, the students had originally intended to go to the zoo, but after such a busy week they decided they’d rather let off some steam in a sports afternoon. They enjoyed an intense round of football games on the football field and several sets of tennis on Jesus green tennis courts.
It was a great way for the students to unwind and take part in some friendly rivalry and it was great to see them all playing together. No matter who won, there were smiles all around.
After a tasty dinner together, some of the students carried on the sporting trend from the afternoon with a pool tournament. Others picked up microphones and set up a karaoke evening – which turned out to be no less energetic than the football and tennis had been.
By the time the students were heading to bed, they were all thoroughly tired out from such an active day. After such a hectic weekend, the students are looking forward to getting back to their studies tomorrow.
