Sunday morning was another relaxed start for our students, who enjoyed a lie-in. Many did decide to wake up early for breakfast, motivated by the prospect of prospect of a full English breakfast and some punting. The weather was perfect, bright and sunny but not too hot.
As the sun soared into the sky, two large groups went out to explore Cambridge in the most idiosyncratic and enjoyable way possible, boating down the river Cam. Starting from Magdalene Bridge, students had a chance to see unparalleled views of some of Cambridge’s grandest colleges from the Backs: St John’s, Trinity, King’s, Clare and more. Those who were interested also had the chance to try their hands at punting themselves, a trickier process than it might initially seem with a lot of skill required to dodge other tourists in their boats, as well as the roots of the rather large trees on the river’s edge.
After all students returned, the rest of the afternoon was theirs to enjoy some free time. It was fantastic to see that so many were hard at work for their Monday morning deadlines, and the questions they were wrestling with even had some of the counsellors scratching their heads on a few occasions. However, with a wide range of expertise among our staff, we were eventually able to answer any challenging questions that did arise.
Sunday evening was a leisurely affair, with table tennis, Monopoly and poker being the main attractions. After a busy weekend, students started turning their attention towards the coming week, which promises a packed timetable of academic, enrichment and social activities. Special mention goes out to Constantinos who managed to get a couple of these wonderful shots of everyone enjoying the sunshine and atmosphere here at Eddie’s.
