It’s Summer 2019 in the City of Dreaming Spires, and as the University of Oxford students disappear on their holidays, ORA’s first cohort will soon descend on St Hugh’s College!
On offer to our students, aged 13-15, will be a wide range of programmes including Film Academy, where they can learn about video production all the way from start to finish.
The college is one of Oxford’s youngest, founded in 1886. It was set up originally as a women’s only college, but has been accepting male students since its centenary year in 1986.
The college is in the Northern part of the city, close to the Pitt Rivers Museum and the famous University Parks. In addition to this stunning setting, St Hugh’s is considered one of the most beautiful of all the Oxford colleges, with an expanse of stunning gardens.
Famous alumni of St Hugh’s include the UK’s second female Prime Minister Theresa May, as well as Emily Davison, an integral member of the British suffragette movement. In more recent times, the college has also contributed famous names to Music, Television and Literature.
St Hugh’s is also one of the largest colleges in Oxford, capable of housing its entire cohort of students on site – so there will be plenty of room for the ORA contingent!
Welcome 2019 students – Oxford is ready for you!
As the next two weeks progress, we’ll be posting updates, pictures and videos about all the wonderful things the students are getting up to – so make sure you bookmark this blog and follow ORA’s Social Media channels to stay up-to-date.
