As we come towards the end of the first week here at Clare it is brilliant to see a group of bright, happy and energetic students settle into the wonderful atmosphere in Cambridge.
As usual, the day began with classes. The students were eager to get their first week of learning rounded up as they look forward to a busy weekend full of social activities and excursions. Despite a substantial workload of homework they were still keen to kickstart the weekend.
In college, everyone enjoyed a delicious and traditional lunch of fish and chips and after classes were over a large group of the students took the chance to go into the city, having some free time to relax and do some more sightseeing.
For dinner it was street food in the back garden of the college which was relished by everyone including both all of the campus staff who enjoyed their meal with the students. The sun was shining as everyone chatted and ate on the lawn together and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
Once supper was over, a few games were played before an evening of entertainment ensued with a karaoke night, something counsellor Linda described as a winning concept. After the evening of fun, everyone was eager to rest up for what will be a busy weekend!
