It was the final day here at Yarnton Manor as we celebrate the fantastic accomplishments of another impressive cohort of students!
In the morning, the students completed their last classes. Although they seemed pleased to have achieved so much academically during their stay, their happiness was mingled with a hint of sadness as they offered their thanks to their dedicated teachers who have made their time here so special.
It was heartening to note the level of gratitude that these students showed their teachers which is a testament to the way in which our programmes encourage a sociable and discursive learning environment. After a traditional lunch of fish and chips, the students began their preparations for their party in the evening, setting up balloons and banners to get them into the festive spirit.
The graduation ceremonies ran as smoothly as ever thanks to our dedicated counsellors, not to mention Junior Dean, Gavin and of course their committed programme director, Adam. The British summer was in full swing, in fact it was so warm that it was necessary to use umbrellas as parasols!
Adam began by thanking the students, noting how well they had engaged with the spectacular setting as well as the enrichment activities, such as badminton! Then it was time to present their scrolls and some special awards to those who had gone above and beyond in their classes. The night was danced away in the marquee. A smashing end to a brilliant two weeks.
