The sun rose on another wonderful day here in Cambridge. At Clare, we are now coming to the end of our first week, but despite the busy schedule the students’ spirits were still high as they headed enthusiastically for another informative day of lessons.
The programmes at ORA are incredibly varied, however it is brilliant to witness how easily our students are making friends across different classes. Thanks to our wide range of social activities, all of our students have the opportunity to engage with every single person during their stay.
After a hearty lunch to fuel them for the rest of the afternoon, all of our students enjoyed a park day. Given the wonderful weather, it was lovely for them to be able to get out in the sunshine and soon the leafy area was filled with laughter. The whole group too part in several active games throughout the afternoon including: football, volleyball, rounders and cricket.
For those students who preferred a more relaxed approach, there were board games to play and some blankets to sit on. During the afternoon, a few students also headed into town to do some shopping and sightseeing, with a small group making the most of the great weather to enjoy punting down the River Cam.
Following dinner later in the evening, there was a chance for the students to catch up on some of their homework – a vital part of ensuring they make the most out of the programme. There was also an opportunity to receive some expert advice from speakers about university course, which proved very useful!
