The week continues to tick along as the students consolidate new friendships and experience all that St Andrews has to offer, but just what is it about St Andrews that makes it such an incredible place to live and learn?
Based in stunning Fife, St Andrews was founded in 1412, and is now the second-highest ranking University in the UK. The college chapel contains the pulpit preached in by John Knox, whilst the grounds hold a thorn tree that many claim was planted by Mary, Queen of Scots.
The wider town of is equally awash with history, from the castle of Cardinal David Beaton (Mary Queen of Scots’ chancellor) to the terrifying ‘bottle’ dungeon below it.
Don’t let the history fool you though; these days St Andrews is a vibrant and dynamic place to live, with some of the world’s most incredible golf courses as well as a number of exciting town attractions, including the Kohler Waters Spa and Spy Mission Treasure Trail.
During their time at this prestigious institution, students will be fully submerged in their chosen area of study, be it Medical School Preparation, Law School Preparation or the Business and Enterprise Programme. Each aims to give students a taste of life at a leading university, as well as the skills they will need to help progress in their academic lives.
