Studying and Sightseeing: A Fantastic First Day in London
After Sunday’s day of arrivals and introductions, Monday was a day for our students to get started on their lessons in London, and there was a real sense of excitement in the air. Students across a range of different courses had a chance to get to grips with their subjects, and rose to the task fantastically.
The students were able to take in fascinating talks on topics such as Experimental Psychology and Creative Writing, whilst there were also starter sessions for Global Leadership and Politics. Business Finance and Economics lessons took place to help those geared towards enhancing their business minds, such is the wide variety of subjects on offer at Imperial.
After lessons, the students got a great opportunity to take in some of the impressive sights around Kensington, including the Royal Albert Hall and the Albert Memorial – named after Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert – and even the occasional red London Bus!
Kensington is an area of London noted for its beauty and famous names – there are several parks and gardens, as well as a number of embassies. It is right on the doorstep of our Imperial College campus and it’s a great chance for our students to take in some culture!
After the tour, the students returned to campus for dinner and a quiz! It was a hugely successful first day and everyone headed to bed ready to recharge for another one tomorrow!
