The Summer has arrived as St Edmund’s as we welcome the first contingent of ORA students to this internationally established college. Throughout the afternoon, students from across the world descended on the scenic city, and as the sun shone, our brilliant campus team were on hand to help the students get settled in.
On arrival, everyone enjoyed refreshments and the chance to introduce themselves to one another. Then it was time for some welcome talks, which aimed to get the students to think about some of the really important aspects of their stay here, such as: being respectful to their international peers, studying with academic rigour and making the most of experiencing the city.
Following their induction talks, the students then headed for some dinner in the dining hall. It was brilliant to see them chatting about their, often long, journeys to get here, and everyone seemed eager to begin forming friendships.
Once the cohort was finished with their meal, they headed onto the grass to play some typical British games such as; duck, duck, goose; wink murder; and splat. The whole group really seemed to gel and everyone got stuck in and competitive with the activities.
After such a busy day, the students were exhausted and eager to get to bed. They look forward to touring the historic city tomorrow afternoon!
