And so it begins! Our first cohort of students has finally arrived at the beautiful Clare College, Cambridge. Bus after coach, after plane, after train brought our brilliant first group of students into this historic city yesterday. As the students entered the leafy college, the sun was shining warmly and all of the flowers were in full bloom for the arrival of what we hope to be a fantastic summer.
All of the wonderful counsellors at Clare were on hand to welcome our first group of students for what will be an informative, fun and exciting experience of living, dining and studying in this world-renowned college.
Whilst the city outside was abuzz with activity, stepping into the gardens at Clare was tranquil. On arrival, the students and some of their parents enjoyed refreshments within the idyllic college walls. It was brilliant to see the students’ eagerness to get to know one another, as they started by introducing themselves to their peers and asking about one another’s journeys.
After some welcome talks throughout the afternoon, the students had the chance to settle into their home for the coming two weeks. After this, they enjoyed a delicious dinner in the dining hall, which was filled with laughter and chatter.
Later in the evening, everyone joined in to play some icebreaker games and it was fantastic to see all of the group immersing themselves in all of the activities. After a busy day of travelling and introductions, the students were keen to get an early night as they look forward to their first day of lessons.
