After such a busy couple of days, the students were a little reluctant to get out of bed this morning. However, after a hearty breakfast and some lively discussions around the breakfast table, they felt prepared for another busy and eventful day.
In the morning, the students got stuck into their classes. It was safe to say there were a few tired eyes, but with the help from some of the leaders and a short break in the morning with biscuits, the students found their second wind and were excited for an interesting afternoon.
During lunch the rain eased off a little, and some of the students took a walk in the grounds to get some fresh air, or played a few rounds of badminton. After lunch they had the opportunity to listen to two insightful guest speakers, James Borrell and Tom Alden. The students really enjoyed the talks and this showed as they remained engaged and attentive throughout – asking questions, taking notes and generally immersing themselves in the specialist subjects of these innovative speakers. Both James and Tom were impressed by their focus and understanding. All-in-all it was a brilliant afternoon, and we are thankful to James and Tom for such excellent talks.
Some fun and animated games of table tennis took place in the evening after dinner, and then it was time for an early night – everyone seemed keen to get a good sleep in preparation for what is to be a really busy weekend, filled with trips, events and of course, homework!
