Summer has arrived and so has the start of Oxford Royale Academy’s Summer Schools. We’re all very excited to be welcoming the first students of the season to Yarnton Manor, a 17 th -century historical building located just outside of the city of Oxford.
Over the next two weeks, students aged 13-18 can look forward to spreading their academic wings and delving into those subjects they are most passionate about. Those on the New Perspectives and Broadening Horizons programmes will be exploring several subjects – giving them the opportunity to try out more than one subject over the next couple of weeks.
Those 16 – 18 students studying Medicine or Business and Enterprise will dive into the finer details of these subjects and get a keen idea as to what it may be like to study these subjects at university level.
With over 150 nationalities represented at ORA this summer, students will also have the opportunity to learn about each other’s diverse cultural heritage. After class activities, facilitated by ORA’s friendly Junior Deans and Counsellors, provide the ideal setting for students to really connect on a
social level and build friendships that will potentially last a lifetime.
Special excursions the students can look forward to include a trip to the city of Bath and a visit to mystical Stonehenge, or the chance to visit Bristol – where students will pay a visit to the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge and tour the SS Great Britain Battle Cruiser.
Being in such close proximity to the academically and culturally inspiring City of Dreaming Spires – Oxford – students can anticipate the chance to explore this incredible city. From taking in key landmarks, visiting Oxford University colleges and getting to participate in some local traditions, such as punting, students have plenty to look forward to.
As the next two weeks progress, we’ll be posting updates, pictures and videos about all the wonderful things the students are getting up to – so make sure you bookmark this blog and follow ORA’s Social Media channels to stay up-to-date.
