Our London cohort at Imperial explored sustainability at the Crystal and went bowling this week.
The Crystal
ORA students at Imperial visited the Crystal this week, an exhibition on sustainable cities. Created by Siemens, the Crystal aims to teach about the future of cities using sustainable techniques, an undoubtedly relevant topic given the current state of the environment.
At the Crystal, pupils used digital screens to build their own sustainable buildings, picking the materials, layout, location and power to design environmentally-friendly structures.
With some choosing solar panelled houses and others using reclaimed materials, it was a great chance for students to learn about the potential of sustainable construction for future developments.
Bowling
Having exercised their intellect, pupils went for a fun evening of bowling. A chance to explore a new area whilst having a great game with friends was appreciated by everyone and students were quick to form teams to battle it out for bowling glory.
Competition was strong as the evening wore on and the scores remained close. Talented bowlers were called upon to deliver strikes and spares to bring their team to victory, with everyone loudly supporting each other.
It was a great evening of laughter and students returned home exhausted after all the excitement.
Stay tuned as we find out what ORA at Imperial get up to over the weekend.
