Session 6 students studying at Yarnton Manor and University College took an exciting excursion up to London for some free time in the city and a cultural experience at the theatre.
Free Time
Arriving in the early afternoon, the chance to explore the world-famous city of London was a marvellous prospect to ORA pupils. Posing beside iconic red telephone boxes and snapping pictures of famous landmarks provided an afternoon of entertainment to our bunch of explorers, who also enjoyed dipping in and out of the tempting shops lining the streets.
42nd Street
This glittering and dazzling West End show brings the magic of the American dream to life. Faced with the chance to take the leading role in a Broadway show, main lead Peggy Sawyer, new to the bright lights of the city, jumps head first into the world of showbiz. Complete with famous and recognisable songs and impressive choreography, the show is unbelievably popular in London’s theatre district.
Many students were awestruck throughout the performance, unable to take their eyes off the glittering costumes and impressive dancing. The songs captivated others, who were nodding their heads in time to the addictive music. By the time the show ended, the mesmerised students had thoroughly enjoyed an experience of London theatre and were talking about it all the way home!
Session 6 is almost at an end, with the exciting Graduation events arriving at both campuses this evening. We look forward to celebrating the hard work that every student has displayed throughout the past two weeks and will report back with pictures and party news soon.
