The final ORA summer Session has arrived and students flooded into University College and Yarnton Manor over the weekend, excited for the action-packed weeks ahead.
Welcome Talks and Icebreakers
Each Session begins with a series of introductory meetings to enable the new ORA students to settle into their new surroundings. Talks are given by programme directors, during which key members of staff are introduced to pupils, giving them an understanding of the extensive support network available.
After welcome talks have concluded, ORA waste no time in helping everyone get to know each other with a series of icebreaker games. Designed to get everybody laughing and chatting, these games provide a safe and welcoming environment to encourage students to get involved with their peers and settle into their home for the next couple of weeks.
The sound of happy laughter filled University College, whilst loud chatter echoed around the gardens of the Manor. With everyone well-acquainted and enjoying some amusing activities, it was clear that pupils felt more relaxed and ready to create lasting friendships throughout their time with ORA.
