Week 4 at SMA has come to a swift end, but not before the last few days of fascinating presentations and sunny sports.
Lessons
Classes have got ORA students thinking during Week 4, as they have been creating models, games and posters to showcase their knowledge.
Presentations and posters were created on innovative and interesting ideas, including tigers, future food, heart rate, sustainable energy and Nasreddin Hodja. The variety of topics reflected the interests of students and provided a wide range of fascinating discussion during the presentation workshops.
Designing and coding computer games was enjoyed by our technological fans this week, who improved and refined their tech skills. From designing the characters and layout to programming the movements and trialling the software, the games showed incredible attention to detail. It was great to see the students presenting their games to their peers and giving each other the chance to play and try out their creations.
Sports
The beautiful grounds of SMA make for the perfect place to run around and get some exercise. Football and basketball were the most popular options this week, with teams forming to participate in some friendly competition.
With blissful weather in the UK keeping everybody outside, even those not playing enjoyed sitting on the sidelines and cheering on the teams. The fresh air was appreciated all round after a day of lessons and the release of energy was needed.
Graduation
Friday evening saw many ORA students at SMA say a fond farewell as they headed home after an exciting and busy stay with ORA.
Receiving their individual certificates was undoubtedly one of the most rewarding moments of the week, as loud applause filled the room and congratulations circulated. The opportunity to be recognised for their hard work definitely made the event even sweeter and it was wonderful to see everybody congratulating each other.
Week 5 at SMA is already upon us and those continuing their stay have welcomed newbies with open arms during the icebreakers on Sunday evening. With a jam-packed week ahead, excursions and activities will ensure that students have an amazing stay with ORA. Stay tuned to hear about their news.
