ORA students at Merton College have been so distracted by their activities and lessons that we’ve hardly heard a squeak from them! However, the wait is over as we see that they’ve been busily exploring Oxford, studying hard and soaking up the historical culture of England.
The City of Oxford
Taking every opportunity to experience life in Oxford, students grabbed their poles and took to the river to go punting. The scenery was stunning and the river was calm as our pupils piled into the punts to liven up the quiet Oxford landscape. Some of our students found that being the physical punter was the most fun, whilst others lounged in the boats and lazily laughed in the sun.
Exploring the city of Oxford was a highlight for many of our students. The impressive architecture, captivating cathedrals and spectacular shops were all enjoyed by our pupils at Merton, who also made good use of the amazing selection of bars in the city.
Lessons
Lessons and classes have given students much to think about, with guest speakers introducing novel concepts and group tutorials providing the chance for everyone to share their ideas together.
The opportunity to learn from peers is a crucial element of these tutorials and they enable pupils to shape their thinking with the help the of innovative thinking of others.
Tonight sees Graduation arrive for ORA students at Merton and we look forward to celebrating their achievements.
