ORA students at Balliol have been creating gorgeous flower crowns and music in week 2.
Flower Crown Creation
The table was bursting with colour and sweet smells as students arrived to create their very own flower crowns. Provided with gorgeous real flowers and colourful pipe cleaners to form the base of the crown, everyone got to work arranging their headpieces.
Some pupils opted to go for lovely colour schemes, choosing only yellows and reds or pink and purples, whilst others created statement pieces using as much vibrancy and life as possible. The fragrant flowery smells drifted through the nearby rooms and created a lovely environment for creativity and inspiration.
The final crowns were dazzling. The explosions of colour and patterns were amazing and the crowns shone with life and beauty. It was such a fun crafty activity and let everyone use their imagination with such gorgeous natural material.
Karaoke
After a relaxing crown making activity, students came together to have a laugh and sing at karaoke. Some daringly performed solo, others joined groups but regardless, everyone had an amusing evening as they watched their friends attempt to perfectly sing famous songs.
Music, Dance and Entertainment
Pupils had an entertaining evening this week performing for their peers in a number of different talents.
Some took to the centre stage to showcase their incredible singing voices, whilst others played the piano and guitar with easy elegance. One student even gave the audience the privilege of listening to their own song ‘Summer’ that they had written themselves. The musical skill of the evening was exceptionally tuneful and the audience showered performers with praise and applause.
As well as musical talents, other pupils wowed with magic shows and dance routines, with many pairing up to impress their peers. The magic was entrancing and many hounded magicians to spill their mystical secrets but to no avail, whilst dancers impressed with their flexibility and skill. The variety of performances made for an enjoyable evening at Balliol College and we commend everyone who took part.
Week 2 of Session 4 at Balliol has been full of excitement so far and it doesn’t end there! Graduation arrives tonight, followed by dinner and a party before we bid students farewell, so check back soon to hear all about their last days.
