Graduation
With Week 2 at St Mary’s Ascot already over, we had to say a sad goodbye to some of our ORA students as they returned home. Having already cultivated lifelong friendships, the farewells were hard but full of promise for lots of international visits in the future.
Before our students could leave, however, they had to participate in the amazingly exciting Graduation ceremony. Pupils were individually awarded with their participation certificates and cheered as they were commended for their hard work over the last few weeks. The atmosphere was warm and jolly as ORA students at SMA received their awards and celebrated their time together.
Graduation doesn’t finish there! After a lavish and delicious formal dinner, students gathered for the Graduation party, a final chance for everyone to have fun with their friends before they return home. It was loud and bright as pupils danced and sang to top hits, laughing and chatting with each other as they did so.
Swimming
With the long-term heatwave afflicting Britain at the moment, ORA pupils at SMA have been lucky enough to have constant access to a swimming pool to let them cool off. Throughout the week, everyone has gathered for refreshing dips and have enjoyed playing games in the water together.
Teambuilding
With many new students arriving, icebreaker and team building games got everyone working together straight away. With lots of sports games getting things off to a kicking start, it wasn’t long before newcomers felt welcome and comfortable enough to get stuck in. Basketball was a popular choice for those wanting to release energy, with some pro players already emerging from the bunch.
The week may be quickly flying by but ORA students at SMA still have loads to look forward to, including an exciting party, so check back soon!
