After exciting guest speakers earlier this week, ORA students at St Hugh’s have been having a whirlwind of a time with activities in the park, a tie dye workshop and extensive classes.

Playing in the Park

A trip to the nearby park this week enabled students to relax and play together after a hard day of work. It is so important to us that pupils have enough downtime together, and a visit to the park seemed a popular choice for everyone wanting some relaxing time outdoors. Luckily it stayed dry as students kicked around a football and sat together admiring the scenery and sunset.

Tie Dye

Some students participated in the tie dying class this week, creating original yellow and blue designs in a variety of patterns. The end results were impressive and the students marvelled at their success and creativity.

Engineering Class

The Engineering class saw students engage in construction projects, showing their already impressive skills.

Starting with theoretical designs and drawings, they soon had their inventions coming alive with lolly sticks and paper. The class worked in small groups to try and construct attractive and stable creations, whilst having fun listening to music as they did so. The class highlighted the ability of the group to work well together and listen to everyone’s input before making any decisions. It was great to see everyone included and laughing together and the final creations were a fantastic tribute to all they have learnt about engineering thus far.
