Students staying at Clare College have had a busy time in Masterclasses this week as they’ve worked on their theatrical, debating and zoology skills.
Theatre Workout
The Theatre Workout Masterclass aimed to give students confidence in their stage performance by providing them with a series of warm-up activities and skill sets required to refine their acting abilities.
The students were enthusiastic and willing to learn during the Masterclass, making the experience enjoyable and useful. With the weather staying warm and sunny, the class was even able to be held outside which was a massive bonus.
Debating
Next, the pupils headed back to the classroom to test out their debating skills. After being run through a selection of hints and tips intended to aid the students in formulating a convincing argument, pupils were sprung into a debate with each other, testing out their newfound knowledge. The results were exceptional, with many students demonstrating a natural talent for debating and producing persuasive points.
Zoolab
Lastly, pupils tested their zoology knowledge with a visit from Zoolab. Whilst experts informed the class about the animals they had brought with them, students were given the chance to handle the creatures and get a closer look at them. The lizard appeared to be the most popular, with students feeling more comfortable to hold him than a snake! It was a fascinating Masterclass and a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with exotic animals.
Tonight brings a pirate-themed party for ORA students at Clare College and we’ll see how they got on next week, arrr!
