It was an early start for sports fanatics on Sunday, who woke early to find the prime spot for the World Cup Final as France took on Croatia. Watching the game while eating breakfast was another unique experience for a lot of the European students and everyone appreciated the timely finish of the match, as a bus awaited to take them into San Francisco once more.

The first stop was the California Academy of Sciences, which houses a Natural History Museum, a Planetarium and an Aquarium. The students saw the inner working of rainforest, took a journey through the entire visible universe, and saw Claude, the Albino Alligator.

From there it was off to one of San Francisco’s most iconic landmarks – The Golden Gate Bridge. The bus drove the students across the infamous bridge to the viewing site where everyone rapidly got out their cameras and phones to took lots of photos. The historic jail on Alcatraz Island was also significantly snapped and students were captivated by the stories of daring escapes and terrifying criminals.

The third and final stop was Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. The students had free time on the pier, picking up souvenirs and ice creams in the San Francisco sunshine. With all the groups safely back at the meeting point, they boarded the bus back to Stanford to have a much needed relaxed Sunday evening after a busy weekend.
