To acknowledge the halfway mark of the students’ stay at Queen’s, Balliol and St Catz Colleges in Oxford for session 3, the students celebrated with a ‘Vintage Circus’ Themed party. The party took place at the stunning Kingston Bagpuize stately home in a unique setting on the edge of The White Horse Vale, only a short drive outside the city centre, and once again the British summer sun provided a splendid backdrop for the event.
Upon arrival, students were welcomed with a selection of ‘mocktails’ to get into the party spirit, before having the chance to try their hand at mini golf, show off their strength on the High Striker game, and give their best shot at Coconut Shy!
As the sun began to set, students were ushered into the ballroom, complete with Vintage Circus décor, DJ and an array of drinks and snacks to fuel the party, including a scrumptious white chocolate mini dessert, and candy floss made to order.
Although some students were a little apprehensive at the beginning, Counsellors encouraged all the students to join in and by the end of the evening, everyone was dancing. Students danced late into the evening with their peers, who were from Queen’s, Balliol and St Catz college in Oxford – a real cross-campus celebration. Definitely not a night to be forgotten in a hurry, with many students already discussing next week’s Graduation celebrations.
The party on Friday night was one of many parties to be enjoyed across campuses in Oxford, Cambridge, London and St Andrews, and we’ll be updating you with photos soon. Take a look at the excellent photos which really sum up what a great evening the students had in Oxford!
