Students at St Mary’s have started their programme with a bang! Today, students enjoyed workshops delivered by experts from the Royal Institution, as part of their ‘Science in Schools’ programme. The workshops are filled with fun experiments, whacky scientific demonstrations… and the odd explosion, as you can see from the photos! The students were wowed by the explosive power of Magnesium and the curious effects of static electricity – including how it makes your hair stand on end. Students were able to get hands-on with the experiments and run some experiments of their own using real science equipment.
In class, students have enjoyed a whole range of activities and lessons depending on their chosen course, while outside of class students have been enjoying sports, frisbee, relaxing on the grass, and watching the world cup – students from France being particularly happy with tonight’s result! Commiserations to all of our Belgian students.
The St Mary’s campus was also delighted to celebrate the 12th birthday of Claire – happy birthday Claire! We hope you had a wonderful day celebrating your birthday with ORA.
